Deutsche Continues US Push With Private Banker Hires In New York

Heather Kirby, Charles Walker and Stewart Oldfield have joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management's private bank in New York, reporting to Andrew Gallivan, managing director and head of the branch.

Kirby – a managing director and private banker – was latterly managing director and private banker at Citi Private Bank, having previously held a similar role at US Trust.

Meanwhile, Walker – a director and private banker – also joins from Citi Private Bank, where he was a senior vice president and private banker. Before that, he was a senior vice president and private client manger at US Trust.

Lastly, Oldfield - who also joins as a director and private banker - spent the last 12 years working within the investment solutions group at Credit Suisse. In that role, he created portfolios and provided liquid alternative investments to the private bank’s institutional and family office clients.

Deutsche has made several key hires in its wealth management division this year. Only last week did Kevin Laurie join from Barclays as a director and client advisor at the New York private client services office.

Additionally, last month the firm said Dessy Arteaga is joining in January 2015 as a managing director and senior private banker, as the firm deepens its footprint in Latin America. Lee Hutter was also brought in as head of wealth management for the US western region, based in Los Angeles, CA – a new role at the firm.

Recent results at DeAWM have been solid, having reported pre-tax income in the three months to September 30 of €288 million , up from €283 million a year earlier .
